      IT Network Engineer
      London (Hybrid)

      The role is a member of the IT team under the Head of IT, they will report to the IT Infrastructure and Operation Manager. The Infrastructure Engineer will contribute to the effective and reliable performance of the Chiltern Railways IT Infrastructure. Maintaining the current network, BAU work and future projects.
        
      The role will require that the engineer be an on-site presence at main data center site at Marylebone for two days. They will also be required to travel to any of the 41+ supported Chiltern sites as needed. The engineer should hold professional qualifications such as Cisco CCNA.
        
      Role Responsibilities:
        

      • Maintain and monitor Network, Security, Server, Storage and Infrastructure Software to meet current and future requirements
      • Implement and monitor Information Security controls, to ensure confidentiality, availability and integrity of Information Systems and compliance with regulatory (e.g. PCI DSS), company or group requirements
      • Adhere to Change Management processes to ensure routine maintenance, upgrades and other activities are implemented in an effective, timely and controlled manner
      • Adhere to Incident Management processes to ensure all incidents and service requests are dealt with in a timely and controlled manner
      • Monitor & maintain monitoring systems and identify performance, capacity or other issues proactively
      • Review, maintain, and audit network and site documentation to ensure that the information is up to date and relevant
      • Assist in the collection of CMDB/ITOM to allow auditing network devices and ensuring documentation and inventory is up to date
      • Maintain a sound working knowledge of the current IT Infrastructure and IT trends and best practice
      • Where required, professionally represent the Infrastructure Team as technical consultant on projects
      • Work with third parties to deliver or support critical services required by Chiltern to maintain passenger services
      • Participate in Infrastructure activities, including design, setup and maintenance at different stages of a technical project
      • Maintain necessary project plans and other documentation of all systems builds and modifications
      • Participate in the emergency on call rota

        
      Person Specification:
        

      • SolarWinds (NCM, SEM, NPM, and IPAM
      • CheckPoint firewalls and VPN Gateways
      • HP/Aruba ProCurve Switches (PoE/non PoE) and Cisco Catalyst and Nexus Switches
      • Cisco Routers (desirable), BGP, OSF and EIGRP protocols
      • Cisco Firepower firewalls and management
      • Meraki MX security and Wi-Fi, provisioning and installing, templating deployments
      • VPN client access (Legacy Always On VPN and new Cisco AnyConnect), Site to Site IPSEC VPNs
      • Identity management, Certificate Authentication, RADIUS (Microsoft NPS) and RAS
      • Wireshark, NMAP, IDS, etc. and scripting ideal – Powershell / batch / VBscript
      • Basic Windows Server and Linux knowledge/skills
      • Active Directory / Azure / DHCP / DNS / DFSR / Group Policy
      • VMware network management
      • ServiceNow or similar service support platform
      • NetApp SAN network management
